Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup fresh basil
  • 1 cup quick-cooking barley
  • 33 tablespoons water
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 Belgian endives
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons red-wine vinegar

    • 3 tablespoons fresh chives
    • ¼ teaspoon sugar
    • ¾ teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups corn
