Basic Custard


  • 1/3 cup(s) sugar
  • ½ teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch(s) salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 cup(s) whole milk or half and half (or a mixture)

Preheat oven to 300°F. Mix all ingredients together well and divide among 4,  6 oz  (or 6  4 oz) custard cups or ramekens.
