  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
  • 8 cups cubed seeded watermelon
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 cup thinly sliced fresh basil

Combine 1 cup water and sugar in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Stir in basil; chill 1 hour.
