Béchamel Sauce

Ingredients

  • salt & pepper to taste*
  • 2 tablespoon(s) flour
  • 2 tablespoon(s) butter
  • 1 cup(s) half & half, warm

Over medium heat, melt butter in a small sauce pan. Add flour. Whisk until smooth, approximately 1 minute.  Add warm half and half; continue to whisk. Cook an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until thick and bubbling. Remove from heat.  Season to taste.* *Use white pepper if desired.
