Beer-Battered Onion Rings


  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large Vidalia, Spanish, or Bermuda onions
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups beer
  • Vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
