Berries and Buttermilk Puddings

Ingredients

  • 4 (6-to 8-ounce) bowls or wide glasses
  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 Turkish
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 2 cups mixed berries
    • 1 lemon
    • ½ vanilla bean
    • or ½ California bay leaf
    • 3 tablespoon sugar
    • ¼ cup dry red wine
    • 1 orange
    • 1 cup strawberries

Sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup milk in a small bowl and let soften 1 minute. Scrape seeds from vanilla bean into a small heavy saucepan and add pod.
