Best Basic Bearnaise Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • salt and white pepper to taste
  • 2 ounces warm water
  • 1/8 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 to 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ pound butter, unsalted
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
    • 2 shallots, minced
    • ¼ cup tarragon, fresh, chopped
    • ¼ cup dry white wine
