  • 3 cups heavy (whipping) cream
  • 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Seeds scraped from 1 vanilla bean (see Note, below)
  • 2/3 cup half-and-half
  • 2 large navel oranges
  • 2 large egg yolks
