Blonde Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup(s) light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon(s) almond extract
  • 1 cup(s) buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup(s) butter, melted
  • 4 egg whites
  • ¼ teaspoon(s) almond extract
  • Caramel Pecan Frosting

    • 1 cup(s) chopped pecans
    • ½ cup(s) butter
    • 1/3 cup(s) buttermilk
    • 2 cup(s) powdered sugar
    • ½ teaspoon(s) Vanilla Extract
    • 1 package(s) white cake mix (18.25 oz pkg)

For cake: Beat together first 5 ingredients for 2 minutes. Pour into a 15x10 jellyroll pan. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes. Cool for 2 hours. For frosting: Bake pecans at 350° for 6 minutes until toasted. Bring butter and brown sugar to a boil in a 3.5 qt. pan over med. heat whisking constantly....
