  • ½ cup apricot preserves
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups whole milk

    • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 6 blood oranges or small navel oranges
    • 2 teaspoons grenadine
    • 6 tablespoons all purpose flour

Combine flour, sugar and salt in processor. Add butter and cut in, using on/off turns, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Whisk 2 tablespoons ice water and yolk in small bowl.
