Ingredients

  • 1 pound dark brown sugar
  • 12 slices white bread
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup dark rum
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 1 cup light corn syrup
    • 1 cup whipping cream
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 4 large eggs
    • ½ cup dried currants
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 2 ½ cups whole milk

Whisk all ingredients in heavy large saucepan to blend. Whisk over medium-high heat until beginning to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low.
