Brandied Eggnog Trifle

  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (16-ounce) frozen pound cake loaf, thawed
  • ¼ cup brandy, divided
  • 5 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 quart refrigerated eggnog, divided

    • 1 cup strawberry preserves
    • 3 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
