Broiled Halibut Steaks with Tomato Coulis

Ingredients

  • 4 halibut steaks (¾ inch thick) (½ lb )
  • 2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • TOMATO COULIS
  • 4 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, chopped (medium)
  • 3 tablespoon(s) olive oil
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 1 onion, chopped (small)
    • 2 clove(s) garlic, minced
    • 3 tablespoon(s) wine vinegar
    • 3 tablespoon(s) dry red wine
    • 2 sprig(s) fresh thyme or ½ teaspoon dried thyme
    • salt and pepper, to taste

Place fish in baking dish and drizzle with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for several hours, turning once.
