  • 1 ½ pounds brussels sprouts
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • Coarse kosher salt
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ pound shallots
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
