Butter Nut Twists Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (¼ ounce each) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water (110° to 115°)
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Imperial Sugar® / Dixie Crystals® Granulated Sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
    • FILLING:
    • 2 cups ground walnuts (8 ounces)
    • 1 cup flaked coconut
    • 1/3 cup Imperial Sugar® / Dixie Crystals® Granulated Sugar
    • 4-½ teaspoons butter, melted

1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add the buttermilk, eggs and yeast mixture; stir to form a soft dough.
