Butter Pecan Cake | Bake or Break

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1 & ½ cups granulated sugar

    • For the cake:
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 16 ounces powdered sugar
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 11 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • 1 & ¼ cups coarsely chopped pecans
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • For the frosting:

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet. Add pecans and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until toasted â€ô about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool completely.
