Ingredients

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 5 to 6 Tbs. cold water
  • ½ tsp. table salt
  • 8 oz. (1 cup) cold unsalted butter, cut into ¼-inch cubes
  • 11-¼ oz. (2-½ cups) unbleached all-purpose flour

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Mix for a few seconds to blend.
