  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • ½ cup dried currants
  • ½ teaspoon salt

    • ½ cup cold butter, cut into chunks
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 large egg

1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl or food processor, mix or whirl flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt to blend.
