  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons molasses
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups milk, divided
  • 2 tablespoons water

    • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
    • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    • ¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
