Butterscotch Topping for Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup(s) water
  • 1 ½ cup(s) brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup(s) white corn syrup
  • 1 dash(s) salt
  • ½ teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 2/3 cup(s) evaporated milk
  • ¼ cup(s) margarine

In a saucepan on the stovetop, boil the first 4 ingredients to the soft ball stage. Cool 10 - 15 minutes; then stir in the evaporated milk, vanilla, and salt. Refrigerate when the sauce has fully cooled.
