California Date Shake


  • 10 dates, pitted
  • ¾ c vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream
  • 1 c 2 percent low-fat milk
  • 6 ice cubes

Cut dates into small pieces. Put them in a blender with the frozen yogurt, millk and ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and serve. Reprinted with permission from Joan Nathan's New American Cooking (Alfred A. Knopf, 2005).
