Ingredients

  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
