Ingredients

  • 8 Gala apples (3 1/2 lb)
  • ½ cup honey
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 9- to 9 1/2-inch (24-cm) springform pan
  • 10 17- by 12-inch phyllo sheets (from 1 package)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • ½ cup confectioners sugar
    • ¾ cup sliced blanched almonds
    • vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Put oven racks in upper and lower thirds of oven and preheat oven to 375°F.
