Caramel Apple Popcorn Clusters

Ingredients

  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon applejack or other apple brandy (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon apple pie spice
  • Kosher salt
  • 12 tablespoons (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • + 5 more ingredients
    • 2 cups apple juice
    • 1 cup unsalted almonds, roughly chopped
    • 4 cups dried apple chips, broken into pieces
    • 2/3 cup popcorn kernels
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
