  • 1-½ Tbs. kosher salt
  • 1-½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1-½ oz. (3 Tbs.) cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbs. vegetable oil, such as peanut or canola
  • ½ cup popcorn kernels, preferably yellow kernels
  • Nonstick cooking spray or vegetable oil
