  • 6 ounces dried California apricots
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ vanilla bean
  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 6 ounces dried Angelino plums

Combine sugar and 3 cups water in a 3- to 4-quart saucepan. Halve vanilla bean lengthwise with a paring knife and scrape seeds into pan, then add pod.
