Chebeh Rubyan (Prawn Balls) Recipe from Gulf States


  • 900g raw prawns, shelled and de-veined
  • 30g fresh
  • ¾ tsp ground
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 115g ground rice
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 150g onions, finely chopped
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 2 tsp
    • 2 tbsp freshly-grated

    • 500ml warm water
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 1 large tomato, blanched, peeled and chopped
    • ¼ tsp hot chilli, minced
    • 2 tsp sugar

Method: Combine the prawns and coriander leaves in a food processor. Pulse until you have a smooth paste then add the turmeric and ground rice. Pulse to mix then add the salt.
