Cheddar-Potato Bread

Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • ½ cup (2 ounces) diced sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups (1-inch) cubed peeled baking potato (about 3/4 pound)
  • 1 package dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour, divided
  • ¾ cup (3 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
    • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
    • 1 teaspoon sugar

Cook potato in boiling water 10 minutes or until very tender. Drain potato in a colander over a bowl, reserving 1 cup cooking liquid. Mash potato with a fork until smooth.
