Cherry Torte with Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cup(s) cherries, drained and reserve juice
  • ½ cup(s) nuts, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1 cup(s) flour
  • 1 ½ cup(s) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon

    • 1 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
    • ½ cup(s) sugar
    • ¼ teaspoon(s) salt
    • 1 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
    • water
    • 1 cup(s) cherry juice
    • Sauce
    • 1 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
    • 1 egg, beaten

Sift together dry ingredients and stir in nuts. Mix cherries with egg and butter. Combine the two mixtures. Pour into greased 9" baking dish. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
