Cherry-Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Cherry Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh cherries (about 1 ½ pounds), pitted, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup cherry-flavored brandy or brandy
- 1/3 cup cherry preserves
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
- ¾ cup sugar

- 1 cup chilled whipping cream
