• ¼ c slivered almonds
• 1 c sugar
• 1 c (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
• 1 large egg yolk
• 1 ½ t vanilla extract
• ¼ t salt
• 1 ½ c all purpose flour

• • 1 c whipping cream
  • 12 oz bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate
