Chocolate-Bourbon Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 ½ cups sifted powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 3 tablespoons bourbon
    • 2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
    • ¼ cup butter or margarine
    • 2 ½ cups sifted powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 3 tablespoons bourbon

Combine egg, bourbon, lemon juice, and vanilla in a small mixing bowl; stir until well blended. Set aside. Cream butter in a medium mixing bowl; add chocolate, and beat until blended. Gradually add sugar to chocolate mixture alternately with bourbon mixture, beating until mixture is smooth.
