Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whiskey Sauce
  • 8 (1-ounce) bittersweet chocolate squares, chopped
  • 7 cups French bread cubes
  • 1 cup milk
  • Garnish: chocolate shavings
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • 2 cups whipping cream
    • 5 egg yolks, lightly beaten
    • ¼ cup unsalted butter

Melt butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Add bread cubes, and cook, stirring constantly, 3 minutes or until golden. Transfer to a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
