Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup chopped hazelnuts, peeled and lightly toasted, plus extra for sprinkling, if desired*
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 10 ounce dark chocolate, finely chopped**

    • 1 large egg yolk
    • ¼ cup cornstarch
