Chocolate-Orange Pots de Crème with Candied Orange Peel

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • + 5 more ingredients
    • 4 ounces bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate
    • 2/3 cup whole milk
    • 3 tablespoons sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Lightly sweetened whipped cream

Using vegetable peeler, remove orange part of peel from orange in long strips. Cut peel lengthwise into 1/8-inch-wide strips.
