Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Dutch-process cocoa
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate (at least 60% cacao), chopped and melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • Table salt
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 1 cup crushed peppermint candy

In a medium saucepan, mix 1 cup of the cream with the milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
