Chocolate Tart with Candied Cranberries

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 ounces bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate
  • Nonstick vegetable oil spray
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 3 tablespoons crème de cassis (black currant-flavored liqueur)
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 1 large egg yolk
    • 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
    • 1 ½ 12-ounce packages frozen cranberries

Blend flour, sugar and salt in processor. Add butter and cut in, using on/off turns, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add 2 1/2 tablespoons water, egg yolk and vanilla.
