Cider-Glazed Turnips & Apples with Sage & Bacon

  • 2 tsp. granulated sugar
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1-½ lb. small purple-top or white turnips (about 9 small)
  • 1 large firm, sweet apple such as Pink Lady or Braeburn
  • 2 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 4 slices bacon, cut into ½-inch pieces
  • 2 tsp. chopped fresh sage
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 1 cup apple cider
