Cinnamon Basil Gelato


  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large egg yolks at room temperature
  • ¼ of a vanilla bean, split and scraped (can substitute ½ teaspoon vanilla extract)
  • ½ of a cinnamon stick
  • 15 cinnamon basil leaves
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • ¼ cup heavy cream
    • 2 ¼ cups milk (I used 1% Simply Smart)
