- ½ cup sugar
- 1 (28-ounce) bottle club soda, chilled
- ½ cup claret or other dry red wine
- ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Crushed ice
- Lemon slices
Combine sugar, lemon juice, and wine in a large pitcher; stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in club soda; pour over crushed ice in serving glasses. Garnish with lemon slices, and serve.
