Ingredients

  • ¾ cup milk
  • 9 oz. (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • Pinch table salt
  • 1-½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 12 oz. (2-2/3 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbs. confectioners’ sugar for dusting
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • + 8 more ingredients
    • 1 tsp. baking powder
    • ¾ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup granulated sugar
    • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
    • ½ tsp. salt
    • 12 oz. (1-½ cups) unsalted butter; more for the pan
    • ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
    • 1 large egg

Position a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 350°F. In a large saucepan, melt all the butter; remove from the heat.
