Corn and Crab Chowder

Ingredients

  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 lb crab meat, shells removed and flaked
  • 1 t thyme
  • ½ t cayenne pepper
  • ½ t white pepper
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 2 ½ c whole kernel corn
    • 4 ½ c milk
    • ¼ c flour
    • 2 garlic cloves, minced
    • 2 onions, chopped
    • 8 oz bacon, chopped

Fry the bacon in a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat until the bacon is crisp. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain. Saute the onions in the bacon drippings for 3 to 4 minutes or until translucent. Add the garlic. Saute for 2 minutes. Whisk in the flour. Cook for 2 min...
