  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup refrigerated eggnog

    • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
    • 8 egg yolks

Cook milk in a heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring often, just until bubbles appear; remove from heat. Add vanilla bean; cover and let stand 20 minutes.
