Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons butter
  • 5 cups water
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
  • ½ cup (2 ounces) grated fresh Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1 cup stone-ground yellow grits
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • ¼ cup (1 ounce) shredded white cheddar cheese
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper
    • 1 cup fresh corn kernels (about 2 ears)

Bring water and salt to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually stir in grits. Reduce heat; simmer 30 minutes or until thick and tender, stirring frequently.
