Ingredients

  • 3 cup(s) diced potatoes
  • 1 cup(s) chopped carrots

  • Dash of Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon(s) sugar
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • ¾ cup(s) flour
    • 1 quart(s) half-and-half
    • ¾ cup(s) margarine

Simmer onions, celery, potatoes, carrots, salt, pepper, and sugar in water, just barely enough to cover vegetables, until tender. Add margarine and melt in mixture, then add flour and half-and-half. Cook until smooth and thick, stirring to prevent scalding.
