Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 ½ cups (1-inch) cubed peeled sweet potato (about 2 pounds)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin

    • ¼ cup finely chopped shallots
    • 1/3 cup half-and-half
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
    • ½ teaspoon curry powder
