  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 (16-oz.) can chocolate syrup
  • 4 large eggs

    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
