  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup unbleached bread flour
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon dried ground thyme
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 ½ cups white whole wheat flour or regular whole wheat flour
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • ¾ teaspoon onion powder
    • ¾ teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • ½ teaspoon dried rubbed sage

Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 400°F. Line large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
