  • 1 (1 1/2-inch) piece cinnamon stick
  • 1 pound lemons
  • 4 pounds 14 ounces white cane sugar
  • 1 pound Valencia oranges
  • 4 ounces lemon juice
  • 3 ½ pounds Early Girl or other sweet red tomatoes
  • A large pinch of saffron
