Eggplant Sandwiches

Ingredients

• 1 cup(s) pasta sauce, purchased or home-made (use more if you wish)
• 1 large eggplant
• ¹/₈ teaspoon(s) allspice or cinnamon
• ¼ cup(s) olive oil, divided (or as needed)
• 1 cup(s) grated mozzarella cheese (about 4 oz.)
• ½ pound(s) ground meat: beef, lamb, or turkey
• salt and pepper
